Welcome to the Isaiah Challenge.

Far beyond the concrete jungle of modern life, the life of plenty and excess exists a parallel reality, one of hunger and need, of dirty roads and dirty water. The land of the forgotten and unwanted, where children only hope for a morsel of bread to eat, a drink of clean water and a warm bed under a roof.

Our goal is to strengthen the local church by promoting the reality of God's holistic vision to reach people. To go beyond the four walls of their church buildings into the real world, the one Christ died for, that He came to, to rescues. To embrace Isaiah’s who wrote, "learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the children". (1:17) and "Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, and cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?" (58:7)

To believe and act on Jesus’ words when He said "for I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me".

These scriptures as well as many more reveal the heart of God, His deep love for the poor and the outcast, and His calling to His people to have the same heart and compassion for them as He does. Jesus reaffirms this when asked what is needed to enter eternal life, He states care for the poor. He even states in Matthew 25 that not to take care of those in need has grave eternal consequences.

And so I have taken Isaiah 1:17, 58:7 as my challenge for myself and the Body of Christ to fulfill, to share what we have with those in need and rescue the oppressed, fight for Justice for the disadvantaged. And to fulfill it as Jesus instructed us how to fulfill them in Matthew 25:35-37.

I long to see a church that takes seriously transforming itself into a missional community that is fulfilling the mission Christ gave it, to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, and cover him.

The Isaiah Challenge seeks to fulfill the call of God by

1. Servering the poor by challenging Christians, the Church/body of Christ to seek out personal ways daily to help the needy by living Missionaly to fulfill Is 1:17, 58:7 as Jesus instructed us to do in Matthew 25:36-37 in practical ways in every day living.

2. Speaking at churches and groups to motivate the body of Christ, to use their resources, time and money, to meet the needs of the poor.

3. To be a Advocate, a voice calling upon and influencing leaders around the world to defend the rights of the poor and oppressed, to motivate the body of Christ to "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves ...defend the rights of the poor and needy". (Proverbs 31:8) To take action to influence political leaders and decision makers, lobby political leaders at every level to provide support and implement effective development plans to improve the lives of millions of people in our cities, country and around the world.

Right now Jesus is hungry. Jesus is thirsty. Jesus is naked. Jesus is in prison. Jesus is sick. What will you do to minister to Him? For the joy set before you, search for the earthen vessels, and you'll find Christ Himself.
